Hays Education are currently recruiting for an experienced
Site Supervisor to join a busy school in Wigan. Due to the split-shift nature of the role, this position would ideally suit someone local to the area who can easily travel to and from site throughout the day.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a school-experienced site professional who enjoys working in a hands-on role and takes pride in maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.
Your new role
- Acting as a keyholder, opening and securing the school site each day
- Carrying out daily site checks and ensuring buildings remain safe and secure
- Undertaking general maintenance, repairs and DIY tasks
- Monitoring the condition of the school grounds and facilities
- Setting up rooms and equipment for school events and activities
- Liaising with contractors and overseeing work carried out on site
- Responding to maintenance requests from staff
- Supporting compliance with health and safety regulations across the school
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience working as a Site Supervisor, Caretaker or Premises Officer within a school
- Experience holding keyholder responsibilities
- Strong practical maintenance and DIY skills
- Good knowledge of health and safety procedures
- Reliable, organised and able to work independently
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
