Job Description

Job Title: Part-time Youth Worker – LGBTQ+

Location: Newham

Responsible to: Youth and Community Coordinator

Salary: £6,950 (9 hours per week)

Job Summary:

The post holder will help create welcoming, inclusive and engaging opportunities for LGBTQ+ young people by supporting the development, delivery and evaluation of youth projects and activities, in line with REIN’s policies and procedures.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Provide support in delivering welcoming, centre-based LGBTQ+ youth programmes and activities.

2. Develop and deliver comprehensive, face-to-face programmes organised around relevant themes.

3. Use effective planning and evaluation to maintain high-quality delivery and identify opportunities for improvement.

4. Develop and deliver activities that enable young people to achieve recorded and accredited outcomes.

5. Work with colleagues and partner organisations, where appropriate, to strengthen youth work programmes. 6. Attend relevant training and development opportunities to build knowledge and skills.

7. Develop and maintain effective communication with partners to support coordinated programme delivery.

8. Provide management with timely, accurate and relevant information when required.

9. Work collaboratively with REIN staff, volunteers, parents and strategic statutory partners to share good practice, promote equality of opportunity and support inclusive delivery.

10. Promote equality, diversity and anti-discriminatory practice by following REIN’s policies.

11. Take responsibility for safeguarding and health and safety in all youth activities delivered as part of the role.

12. Undertake any other reasonable duties requested by the Line Manager or CEO.
