Summary
Registrars work as part of a team of 7 Clinical Oncology Registrars and 13 Medical Oncology Registrars, thus forming a non-resident on-call rota of 1 in 20. The Solid Tumour Oncology inpatient wards are supported by a team of nine ST1/2 Level Doctors and two FY1 Doctors. The successful candidate will receive full support not only in the day-to-day clinical duties; but also in their career development and applications for NTN and research posts. There will be opportunities to participate in outpatient clinics and to gain skills and experience in radiotherapy planning. The Department is actively involved in audit and research and the successful applicant will have access to a varied educational programme and all training opportunities available to the existing specialist trainees. Experienced doctors who have completed Core Medical Training or equivalent are invited to apply. MRCP is desirable although not essential. Experience in Oncology or Haematology is very desirable. Similarly, research fellows committed to Medical Oncology, Clinical Oncology, or Haematology and looking for a post to apply for an NTN in the future are encouraged to apply.
