Salary Scale: SCP23 £34,434 – SCP25 £36,363 (pro-rated)
Location: Carers Leeds supports hybrid working arrangements, in the Carers Leeds office, community locations, and from home.
Hours: 21 hrs (Wednesday-Friday)
Purpose of the job: Lead on developing and testing creative digital approaches to reach, engage, and support carers, with a particular focus on young adult carers.
The role will use digital platforms and approaches that reflect how young adult carers want to engage, while supporting colleagues to make greater use of the digital tools in their work.
Main responsibilities and duties:
First point of contact
• Respond to enquiries from unpaid carers, including young adult carers, via telephone, webchat, email and video call; providing person-centred support, information and guidance.
• Undertake full assessments of carers’ need for support.
• Provide information, guidance and emotional support on a range of relevant subjects, including, but not exclusively, money guidance, access to social care, housing, respite, education and employment.
Digital
• Facilitate online carers support group/s.
• Lead on developing and testing innovative digital approaches to identifying, reaching and supporting carers, particularly young adult carers.
• Contribute to the planning and delivery of online events, workshops and training opportunities for carers.
• Participate in the Carers Leeds Digital Working Group and contribute to the delivery of our digital strategy.
• Support colleagues to integrate digital methods of support into their practice.
• Maintain technical oversight of the Carers Leeds webchat system and appointment co-ordination of the Carers Leeds online booking system.
Young Adult Carers
• Lead on identifying and engaging young adult carers, helping them to access appropriate support.
• Provide information, guidance and support in ways that are accessible, relevant and meaningful to young adult carers.
• Create and develop digital content, resources and promotional materials that help young adult carers identify themselves as carers and understand the support available to them.
• Raise awareness of young adult carers through partnership working with organisations such as Leeds Young Carers Support Service, further and higher education providers and employers.
Other
• Assist and participate in promoting Carers Leeds through conferences/seminars, meetings, and other similar activities.
• Other work as required to enable the service to be delivered.
