Summary

What's involved with this role:

Triumph Consultants are looking for an Accountant to assist in ensuring the Service delivers its key objectives at an operational level and supports the Accountancy Business Change Managers. Contract is for 5 months in Woolwich, SE18 6HQ

Accountant - Business Change

Pay Rate up to £22.54 per hour PAYE

Hours per week: 35 Monday – Friday, normal working hours

Contract length: 5 months

Location: Woolwich, SE18 6HQ

Assume office based

Key requirements:

Fully qualified accountant (CIPFA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong experience in public sector finance

Experienced in financial governance and statutory compliance, including supporting Section 151 responsibilities

Must be able to advise officers of the Council on finance matters

Competent to work collaboratively across boundaries and with external partners

Must have an ability to successfully analyse complex issues and situations and provide practical and creative solution

Experience of driving efficiency and supporting strategic decision making through analysis, performance reporting and challenge

Key responsibilities

To support senior managers in the operational delivery of an area of the Service

To contribute, as required, to the development of strategies, policies and practices

To contribute, as required into the development and implement of service plans, including delivery targets

Budget setting monitoring and closing of accounts

Following processes e.g. Treasury Management

Undertaking financial control processes e.g. reconciliations

Submission of grant claims and returns

To monitor the financial position/impacts of the areas of responsibility
