Then this could be your dream role.Learning Curve Day Nursery is looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring Level 2 or 3 Nursery Practitioner to join its friendly team. You will be working with babies through to preschool age children, helping them develop core skills by engaging them in fun and explorative activities. We love the great outdoors and encourage our children to be curious so they’re not just ready for school, but life beyond that too! In April, we launched our very own Forest School, marking an exciting new adventure for our nursery. Our Forest School offers children regular opportunities to learn, explore and grow within a natural outdoor environment, supporting curiosity, confidence, resilience and a strong connection to nature.We also operate a car share scheme at the Nursery, if this is of use to prospective applicants. Contract type: Permanent roleSalary: £13.25 - £13.45 ph / £27,560.00 - £27976.00 paBenefits: 5% employer pensionShopping discount card50% fee discount for the sessions your child attends on the days you work in the nurseryAccess to the group's counselling scheme3 x days of paid CPD / training per year20 days holiday per year, rising by one day a year to a max of 25, every year of employmentPersonal accident at work coverAccess to fully funded apprenticeshipsExtra day off for birthdayStaff uniform providedJob Description:Main dutiesReporting into: Nursery Manager/Deputy Manager, you will be expected to: Plan and deliver a range of age appropriate activities focusing on each individual child’s interestsMaintain the children's development, progress & observation records with the support of the Room LeaderTo develop and maintain good relationships and communications with parents/carers to fully integrate the children into the NurseryWork with all staff in promoting good staff practices Person Specification:Essential skills:Interest in caring for, or working with children aged 0-5A confident communicator with excellent listening skills A passion for delivering fun and creative activities suitable for early educationA positive, hard-working, can-do attitudeA positive approach to learning and gaining new skills through teamwork and training opportunitiesWilling to develop imaginative ideasEnthusiastic about the benefits of outdoor learningAbility to deal with sensitive issues and confidential information Work alongside the Manager and staff team to ensure that the Nursery’s ethos is fulfilledFlexibility to occasionally work outside of normal working hours (Parent Open Days)Desirable skills:Previous experience of working in a nursery or childcare environmentA completed Level 2 or 3 Childcare qualificationWorking knowledge of the EYFS frameworkKnowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, child protection and child developmentExperience or an understanding of key worker principles and experience of recording and observationsKnowledge of the National Standards for the regulation of childcare provisionPlease read candidate pack attached for full job description.
