Flexible Primary Supply Teacher - Greenford
Location: Greenford, West London
Pay: From £160 per day PAYE
Contract: Flexible Supply | Full-Time Opportunities
Start Date: ASAP
Are you a qualified teacher ready for a fresh challenge, but not necessarily ready to commit to one school?
We are looking for Primary Supply Teachers in Greenford who are available to start ASAP and want to combine flexibility with genuine opportunities to develop their teaching experience.
Supply teaching can be an excellent way to move your career forward. You'll experience different classrooms, teaching styles and school environments while developing the confidence and adaptability that comes from working with a variety of pupils.
For an Early Career Teacher, this can be an opportunity to build classroom experience and discover where you work best. For an experienced teacher, it can provide greater flexibility while keeping you connected to the classroom and developing your professional experience.
As a Supply Teacher, you'll step into the classroom when additional teaching cover is required.
Some assignments may involve covering a class for a single day, while others could develop into longer-term opportunities where you'll have greater responsibility for planning, assessment and pupil progress.
Whatever the assignment, your priority will be to provide consistency for pupils and ensure learning continues.
Your responsibilities could include:
- Delivering engaging lessons across the primary curriculum
- Following lesson plans and established classroom routines
- Taking responsibility for classes across different year groups
- Quickly building positive relationships with pupils
- Managing behaviour confidently and consistently
- Adapting activities for different abilities and learning needs
- Supporting pupils with SEND and additional needs
- Working alongside Teaching Assistants and other classroom professionals
- Encouraging participation, confidence and independence
- Providing feedback on pupil learning and work completed
- Maintaining a safe, positive and inclusive classroom environment
One of the biggest advantages of supply teaching is the variety of experience it can provide.
Different schools have different approaches to curriculum delivery, behaviour, SEND, pastoral support and classroom organisation. Working across these environments can help you identify new ideas and approaches to bring into your own teaching.
You'll have the opportunity to strengthen your experience in areas such as:
- Classroom and behaviour management
- Adaptive and differentiated teaching
- SEND and inclusive practice
- Curriculum delivery
- Working across different primary year groups
- Building rapport quickly
- Supporting pupils with varying levels of attainment
- Working effectively with Teaching Assistants
- Responding confidently to unfamiliar situations
These are valuable skills whether your longer-term ambition is classroom teaching, subject leadership, SEND, pastoral responsibility or another area of education.
Not every teacher wants exactly the same career.
You may be deciding which key stage you enjoy most. You might want to experience different schools before considering a permanent position. Perhaps you're returning to teaching and want to rebuild your confidence, or you're an experienced teacher looking for more control over your working pattern.
Supply teaching gives you the opportunity to experience different settings while continuing to build your CV and professional knowledge.
It can also help you understand the type of school culture, leadership style and classroom environment where you're most likely to thrive.
We're interested in hearing from teachers who can walk into a classroom, establish themselves quickly and create a positive learning environment.
You should have:
- QTS, PGCE or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Experience within a primary classroom or relevant teacher training
- Good knowledge of the primary curriculum
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- The ability to adapt quickly to different year groups and environments
- A positive approach to SEND and inclusive education
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A reliable, professional and flexible attitude
- A genuine commitment to maintaining high standards of teaching
Applications are welcomed from both ECTs and experienced Primary Teachers.
Choosing supply doesn't mean pressing pause on your professional development.
It can give you the chance to gain experience, develop new skills, build relationships with local schools and explore different career directions while maintaining greater flexibility.
With pay starting from £160 per day via PAYE and opportunities available for an ASAP start in Greenford, you could be back in the classroom and developing your experience straight away.
