A welcoming and supportive SEN school in Oldham is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a long-term basis. The school provides a nurturing, structured and inclusive environment for pupils with a range of additional needs, supporting every child to develop their confidence, independence and learning.

The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting pupils with their learning and wider development, working closely with teachers and the wider support team to provide personalised support throughout the school day.

Key responsibilities:

- Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs

- Supporting pupils to access the curriculum and adapt activities to meet individual needs

- Supporting children with communication, social and emotional development

- Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation

- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils

- Supporting the implementation of individual support plans and EHCP targets

- Working closely with teachers and the wider SEN support team

- Promoting independence, confidence and positive engagement in learning

- Have previous experience working with children or young people with additional needs

- Be confident supporting learning, behaviour and emotional regulation

- Have a calm, patient and nurturing approach

- Be proactive, reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team

- Have the right to work in the UK and full-time availability

- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Have a genuine passion for supporting children with SEN
