A welcoming and supportive school in Prestwich is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Support Assistant to join their team. The school provides a nurturing and inclusive environment for pupils with additional needs, helping them develop academically, socially and emotionally.
The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting pupils throughout the school day, providing 1:1 and small-group assistance where required. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them reach their full potential.
Key responsibilities:
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support, adapting learning to meet individual needs.
- Supporting pupils with SEN across the classroom and wider school environment.
- Assisting with emotional regulation, behaviour management and social development.
- Helping pupils engage with their learning and develop confidence and independence.
- Working closely with teachers and support staff to meet individual pupil needs.
- Supporting pupils with their communication and social development.
- Helping create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Encouraging pupils to develop key life skills and independence.

The successful applicant will:
- Have previous experience working with children or young people.
- Have experience supporting children with SEN (desirable).
- Be calm, patient, resilient and proactive.
- Have a nurturing approach and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
- Be confident supporting behaviour and emotional regulation.
- Have the right to work in the UK and full-time availability.
- Hold a child DBS.
Working Hours:
08:30 - 15:30
