Summary
Masstemps is currently recruiting for an experienced
Metal Polisher to join a well-established and busy manufacturing company based near the
Willenhall area.
THE ROLE
• Polish and finish metal components and assemblies to the required specification and standard.
• Use polishing wheels, mops, compounds, linishing equipment and other finishing tools.
• Carry out grinding, linishing, deburring and polishing to remove marks, welds and surface imperfections.
• Work with stainless steel, aluminium and other metals, depending on the job.
• Prepare surfaces for a high-quality polished, brushed or satin finish.
• Inspect finished components for scratches, marks, dents and other surface defects.
• Ensure consistent finishes across individual components and larger assemblies.
• Use hand and power tools safely while working to production requirements.
• Follow job sheets, drawings and customer specifications where required.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area and follow relevant health & safety procedures.
ABOUT YOU
• Previous experience as a Metal Polisher, Linisher or Metal Finisher within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• Hands-on experience using polishing wheels, linishers, grinders and finishing equipment.
• Experience polishing stainless steel and/or aluminium would be advantageous.
• Good understanding of surface preparation, grinding, deburring and polishing processes.
• Able to achieve different finishes, including polished, brushed and satin finishes.
• Good eye for detail and ability to identify surface imperfections.
• Comfortable working with hand and power tools.
• Ability to work accurately to production requirements while maintaining a high standard of finish.
• Previous experience polishing fabricated or welded components would be beneficial.
• Experience within architectural metalwork, stainless steel fabrication or bespoke manufacturing would be an advantage.
HOURS OF WORK
06:00am - 14:30pm Mon - Thur / Fri 07:30am - 12:30pm (39hrs)
PAY RATE
Up to £20.00ph
