Summary
Masstemps is currently recruiting for an experienced
TIG Welder to join a well-established and busy manufacturing company based near the
Walsall area.
THE ROLE
• TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium components to engineering drawings and job specifications.
• Set up and operate TIG welding equipment, selecting the correct settings, tungsten, filler rod and gas.
• Weld components to a high standard, maintaining consistent weld quality and appearance.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions and welding symbols.
• Prepare materials before welding, including cleaning, cutting, grinding and accurately positioning components.
• Use jigs, fixtures and clamps to ensure components are correctly aligned during fabrication.
• Carry out visual inspections of welds and make adjustments or repairs where required.
• Grind, dress and finish welds to the required standard.
• Use hand and power tools safely within a busy manufacturing environment.
ABOUT YOU
• Previous experience working as a TIG Welder/Fabricator within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Strong TIG welding experience, ideally working with stainless steel and mild steel.
• Experience welding a range of material thicknesses and different types of fabricated components.
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings and welding symbols.
• Experience setting TIG machines and selecting appropriate welding parameters.
• Confident using grinders, drills, saws and other fabrication equipment.
• Good understanding of weld preparation, joint fit-up and finishing.
• Able to produce neat, consistent welds with a good standard of finish.
• Experience working accurately to measurements and tolerances.
• Relevant welding qualifications or coded welding experience would be advantageous but not essential.
HOURS OF WORK
Monday - Thursday 06:00am - 14:30pm
Friday 06:00am - 12:30pm
PAY RATE
£15.00ph - £17.00ph
