Summary
Masstemps is currently recruiting for an experienced
MIG Welder to join a well-established and busy manufacturing company based near the
Walsall area.
THE ROLE
• MIG weld mild steel components to engineering drawings and job specifications.
• Set up and operate MIG welding equipment, selecting the correct wire, gas and settings for the material and thickness.
• Weld a range of fabricated steel components, maintaining consistent weld quality and appearance.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols.
• Prepare materials prior to welding, including cutting, cleaning, grinding and positioning components.
• Use jigs, fixtures and clamps to accurately position components before welding.
• Grind and dress welds where required to achieve the required finish.
• Use hand and power tools safely within a busy fabrication environment.
• Follow company health & safety procedures and maintain a clean and organised work area.
ABOUT YOU
• Previous experience working as a MIG Welder/Fabricator within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• Strong MIG welding experience on mild steel.
• Experience welding different material thicknesses and working on fabricated components.
• Experience setting welding machines and selecting appropriate wire, gas and settings.
• Confident using grinders, drills, saws and other fabrication tools.
• Experience using jigs, fixtures and clamps to assemble components accurately.
• Good eye for weld quality with the ability to identify and rectify defects.
• Ability to work to production targets without compromising quality.
• Relevant welding qualifications or coded welding experience would be advantageous but not essential.
HOURS OF WORK
Monday - Thursday 07:30am - 16:30pm
Friday 07:30am - 12:30pm
PAY RATE
£13.50ph - £14.00ph
