Summary
DC Personnel are looking for a Trainee Metal Fabricator for the area of Leicestershire
Location: Leicester
Salary: £13 - £14 starting pay rate, DOE
Hours: Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm Full-time / Ongoing
Overtime: Available as when required
This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced and forward-thinking company, the successful candidate will join a close-knit, highly skilled and hands-on team producing a range of bespoke metal fabrications.
Ideally, we are looking for someone with previous metal fabrication experience, however, practical experience is not essential for the right candidate, as full training will be provided. We are particularly interested in individuals who have a positive attitude, strong work ethic and genuine willingness to learn and develop their skills.
The Role
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Working from job sheets, measurements and technical drawings
• Producing a range of bespoke signage and metal fabrications
• Working with aluminium, mild steel and stainless steel
• Measuring, cutting, shaping and preparing metal components
• Using machinery including pillar drills, circular saws, band saws, guillotines and folders
• Using a range of hand and electrical tools
• Assisting with press brake operations
• Learning and developing skills across all aspects of sign fabrication
• Assisting with general Metal Shop duties and machine maintenance
• Carrying out quality checks to ensure work is completed to a high standard
• Working to strict health and safety guidelines
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
• Previous experience in metal fabrication or a similar practical environment
• A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn
• Excellent attention to detail
• A strong and enthusiastic approach to work
• Good problem-solving skills
• The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• The ability to follow instructions accurately
• The confidence to work using your own initiative
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• A reliable, trustworthy and honest approach
Previous metal fabrication experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided for the right candidate.
