Summary

The Specialist Physiotherapist (Band 6) will provide physiotherapy services within the inpatient specialist stroke rehabilitation pathway at Haywood Hospital, with some work across community and outpatient settings. The role involves assessing and managing complex therapeutic needs, developing and implementing care plans, and supporting timely hospital discharges. The post holder will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and promote independence Main Responsibilities: Deliver specialist physiotherapy assessment and interventions for adults with stroke and related conditions. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualised treatment and care plans. Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support patient recovery and discharge planning. Provide clinical supervision, training, and leadership to junior staff and students. Maintain accurate records and uphold professional standards in line with HCPC and CSP guidelines. Contribute to service development, innovation, and quality improvement initiatives. Support the emotional needs of patients and carers, offering reassurance and empathy.
