Summary

To take a lead role in co-ordinating the waiting lists of a group of Consultants in accordance with Trust Policies and government wait time targets for elective surgery, both urgent/cancer and non-urgent, adding to waiting lists/ensuring VBC compliance and calculating pathway dates in line with local and national targets ensuring these targets are not breached. To co-ordinate admission and associated pre-operative assessment appointments, ensuring all key hospital staff are aware of any organisational arrangements. To coordinate surgeons theatre lists, including selecting appropriate cases in clinical/ chronological order and with appropriate attention to medical requirements of the procedures ensuring theatre lists are utilised to their full potential. Schedule surgery and any other related appointments across surgical specialties, monitor progress, identify potential breaches & liaise with clinician/other parties to resolve, plan and manage effective utilisation of theatre lists. To arrange interpretation services for any relevant appointments. Have the ability to manage the demands of a high-pressure, fast-paced environment to ensure service continuity. Provide information to assist performance reporting and resolution of queries or complaints (e.g. Inphase) as required.
