Summary

Reception Class Teaching Assistant Hours: 31.25 hours per week, for 38.2 weeks a year (26/27 academic year: term time plus one Inset day). Working Hours: 08:30 to 15:15 Monday to Friday with a 30 minute unpaid break.Contract: Fixed-Term until 31st August 2027 (with potential to extend)Pay scale: Surrey S3 £25,133 FTE (£18,382 actual annual salary).At St Ignatius Catholic Primary School, we believe that all children should be given the opportunity to excel. Experience of working with children with additional needs would be an advantage, but is not essential. You will help children learn through play and everyday classroom activities, with a particular focus on developing their language, communication and confidence through play and positive interactions. You will also support our young children with their personal care needs, helping them to develop their independence and confidence with daily routines. While this role is based in Reception, staff may work across other year groups as school needs arise.Key Responsibilities:Support Learning & Play: Help deliver engaging early years learning through play and positive interactions, helping children access the EYFS curriculum.Child Wellbeing & Care: Support children's personal care routines, fostering self-help skills and confidence in accordance with school policies.SEND & Intervention: Work alongside the Class Teacher and SENDCo to deliver targeted interventions and support pupils with individual needs.Classroom & Resource Setup: Assist in maintaining a stimulating environment and organising appropriate learning resources.Record Keeping & Communication: Keep accurate records of children’s progress and support positive discussions with parents and carers.Safeguarding & Professional Standards: Maintain exemplary standards of conduct, keeping up to date with child protection and safeguarding welfare requirements.If you are interested in the position, we encourage you to contact us to discuss further, and if possible visit the school to meet our great team and fantastic children, by contacting the school office.
