Learning Assistant Role

As a Learning Assistant you will:

Work closely with the class teachers and Year Group Leader to resource and support children’s learning across the curriculum.

Help create learning opportunities where pupils can expand their knowledge and reach their potential, irrespective of ability.

Will respond positively to the challenges of day to day school life and be a strong team player.

Teach children on a 1:1 basis, or as a small group.

We have two positions available please indicate on the application form which you are applying for.1 x Permanent Job Share Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 17.25 hours per week. Hours: 8.45am – 3.30pm + inset days. FTE salary £25,133 (pro rata salary £10,254.18).

You will be additionally working 1.5 hours per week as a Midday Assistant, half an hour a day Weds to Fri, annual FTE salary £25,133 (pro rata salary £877.81).Hours and days for these roles are non-negotiable due to the job share hours of the existing member of staff.1 x Fixed Term Contract position to 31/08/27 Monday to Friday full days, 28.75 hours per week. Hours: 8.45am – 3.30pm + inset days. FTE salary £25,133 (pro rata salary £17,090.29).Mornings will be spent in a general Learning Assistant role, while afternoons will be dedicated to supporting Pupil Premium pupils across the school.You will be additionally working 2.5 hours per week as a Midday Assistant half an hour a day Mon to Fri, annual FTE salary £25,133 (pro rata salary £1,463.02).Hours and days for these roles are non-negotiable due to the standard timetable pattern across the school for all classroom support staff. Enjoys making activities fun in order to inspire, motivate, engage and enthuse our pupils to love learning

Possesses excellent numeracy and literacy skills (GCSE or equivalent level C or above in Maths and English)

Has a range of effective positive behaviour management strategies

Who would be able to assist Teachers in assessing pupils’ progress

Has high expectations of themselves and pupils' achievements

Has patience, calmness, initiative and resilience.

Is an excellent team player with good communication skills and an ability to work flexibly, alongside a range of children and adults

Is willing to contribute to the broader life of the school community

Has experience of working with primary age children

Understands the physical, emotional, social and educational needs of young children

Has a warm nurturing personality and an understanding and commitment to the families and children in our community
