What if you could teach without having to fit one young person into a whole classroom?

SEND Inclusion Support is looking for a Nurture Teacher in Bolton to provide individualised education to a young person who is currently unable to access a mainstream school environment.

This is a role for a teacher who enjoys the part of teaching that can sometimes get lost in a busy classroom - getting to know the young person, understanding what motivates them and finding the right way to help them learn.

You'll have the opportunity to work at the young person's pace, adapt sessions around their interests and needs, and build the confidence and engagement needed for their next steps.

The role

You'll provide bespoke 1:1 teaching, which may take place across the home and community, depending on the young person's needs and the agreed provision.

Your role will include:

Planning and delivering personalised learning

Building a consistent and trusting relationship

Adapting teaching to the young person's individual starting point

Using creative and interest-led approaches to encourage engagement

Supporting academic, social and emotional development

Developing confidence, independence and communication

Helping overcome barriers to education and learning

Monitoring progress and providing clear feedback

Working positively with parents/carers and other professionals

Supporting the young person towards their next appropriate education pathway

You won't be starting with a blank page

One of the things that makes working with SEND Inclusion Support different is our bespoke Nurture Curriculum.

Our semi-formal curriculum has been developed specifically for pupils and young people who may not be able to access mainstream education. It provides a framework for progression while allowing you to adapt the learning around the individual.

It can also link into the National Curriculum and formal education pathways where appropriate.

So you'll have the professional freedom to teach creatively, but you won't be expected to build everything from scratch.

You're part of a team

Although you may be delivering sessions independently, you're not working in isolation.

Our Nurture Teachers have access to curriculum guidance, resources and ongoing support from our wider specialist SEND team.

We also hold termly Nurture Teacher Days, bringing our teachers together to share ideas, discuss experiences, reflect on practice and support each other.

What we're looking for

We're interested in hearing from teachers who have:

QTS or substantial relevant teaching experience

Experience working with SEND and/or SEMH

A genuine understanding of individualised education

The ability to adapt teaching creatively

A calm, patient and consistent approach

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

The confidence to work independently while remaining connected to a wider team

A commitment to helping young people make meaningful progress

Experience of EBSA, anxiety, autism, SEMH or alternative provision would be beneficial.
