Learning Support Practitioner - Adult Learning£20,810 to £23,026 per year pa inc London WeightingPermanent - Full-timeIn this role, you will provide high-quality, tailored support to adult learners with additional learning needs. You will work one-to-one, within the classroom, and in small groups to help learners access and succeed in Maths, English, ESOL and vocational programmes.You will play a key role in promoting independence, building confidence and ensuring that support is responsive to individual learner needs. The Role:Reporting to the Horizons LSP Coordinator, you will work under the supervision and guidance of lecturers and coordinators to provide high-quality, individualised support for students with learning difficulties and disabilities.You will primarily support learners within foundation learning programmes, delivering both one-to-one and in-class support to ensure students can fully access their curriculum.You will be responsible for;Work under the supervision and guidance of tutors to support students with mild/moderate and complex learning difficulties and disabilities within HorizonsProvide one-to-one and group support (direct and indirect) for students following foundation courses, primarily within the learning environmentCollaborate with Horizons Specialist staff, Student Support Advisors and the Youth Worker to support students with SEMH needs and encourage positive engagement and attendanceUse learning support systems to ensure bespoke, individualised support plans are implemented effectivelySupport, monitor and track learner progress, attendance, behaviour and completion of vocational activityPromote inclusive practice and positive learning behaviours within the classroomContribute to creating a safe, supportive and engaging learning environmentMaintain accurate records and communicate effectively with curriculum and support teams
What We’re Looking For;A level 2 or above qualification. (E)Experience of providing effective coaching for students on an individual basis or in a group setting to support success and progression (E)Understanding of academic and vocational education in a College setting. (E)A high level of oral skills, both one to one and in a group setting. (E)Excellent written skills: able to compile clear procedures, manuals, guides etc. (E)
