LSPs Horizons and Mainstream - Sessional£14.53 to £16.08 per hour inc London WeightingTemporary - Full-timeWe are seeking Learning support Practitioners (LSPs) to join our Horizons and Mainstream teams, on a sessional, hourly-paid basis, term-time only.You will play a key role in promoting independence, building confidence and ensuring that support is responsive to individual learner needs.

What You’ll Be DoingAs an LSP, you will work under the supervision and guidance of the Lecturer with students with learningdifficulties and disabilities.You will:To provide one to one support, both direct and indirect, for students with learning difficulties and disabilities following mainstream courses, primarily in the learning environment.To support and provide personal care alongside another member of staff, to ensure that learners can have as much independence in accessing the bathroom with privacy and dignity.To work with the Student Support Advisors and Student Learning Mentors adequate support for students with SEMH needs and to encourage such students to attend the College.To apply appropriate communication methods, suitable to the needs and preferences of the student, to enable access to information, and to facilitate two way communication.To assist in particular arrangements for formal student testing and assessments e.g. invigilating, reading, scribing etc

What We’re Looking ForWe are looking for a passionate and committed team member, who understands the transformational impact of supported education.You should have:A level 2 or above qualification. (E)Experience of providing effective coaching for students on an individual basis or in a group setting to support success and progression (E)Understanding of academic and vocational education in a College setting. (E)A high level of oral skills, both one to one and in a group setting. (E)Excellent written skills: able to compile clear procedures, manuals, guides etc. (E)
