About the Role
Casual Social Care Workers provide flexible support on an
as-and-when-required basis, helping to cover vacant shifts within the service. This role is ideal for individuals who are seeking flexibility and do not wish to commit to a fixed working pattern.
While your designated host home would be
Burnbrae, there may also be opportunities to work across other
Falkirk Health and Social Care, Care Homes, allowing you to broaden your experience and develop your skills in a variety of settings.
We are looking for caring, compassionate, and dedicated individuals who are committed to making a positive difference in the lives of older adults.
Candidates should have experience and knowledge of providing care, with experience of supporting older adults, particularly those with mental health needs, being desirable. You should demonstrate:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A flexible and adaptable approach to work
- A willingness to learn and develop professionally
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Experience of assessment, support planning, risk assessment, and case recording
An SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care and Moving and Handling training are desirable; however, support can be provided to achieve the required qualification within the Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership.
Successful candidates must be eligible to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as a Practitioner in Care Home Services for Older People and obtain the necessary qualification within the required timescale. A satisfactory PVG Scheme Membership will also be required and maintained throughout employment.
Working Hours
This position is offered on a zero-hours contract, providing flexibility to work shifts on an as-and-when-required basis. You can indicate your availability and choose which shift patterns suit your circumstances, including early shifts, back shifts, and night shifts. Opportunities for work are available across the week and weekend.
