Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership is recruiting Personal Carers to join the newly transformed Care at Home Service in Falkirk Council

This is an exciting time to join us. The team is developing new support services and evolving to focus on reablement, helping people rebuild confidence and regain independence following illness, injury or a stay in hospital.

As well as the new reablement focus, the service will provide high intensity support for people requiring more complex care or being supported with end-of-life care.

Our Personal Carers will focus on shorter periods of support for 4-6 weeks often providing temporary help until people regain the skills and confidence to live independently. During these periods, our Personal Carers will spend longer within people’s homes to help them complete daily tasks, rather than traditional ‘drop-in’ visits throughout the day.

This approach encourages people to do as much as possible for themselves and reduces unnecessary hospital admissions.

You may already work in care, have experience supporting a family member or friend, be returning to work, starting or changing career paths, or looking for flexible hours that fit around your commitments.

We’re recruiting a mix of full-time and flexible part-time roles across the Falkirk area. The service operates between 6am and 11pm, seven days a week, with a variety of working patterns available.

What you'll do

You'll be part of a team which helps people to:

• Regain confidence after illness or injury

• Develop daily living skills

• Remain safely at home

• Avoid unnecessary hospital admissions

• Improve their wellbeing and independence

• Leave hospital as soon as possible (Discharge 2 Assess)

• Receive additional care to help prevent being admitted to hospital (Rapid Response)

A driving licence and access to a vehicle would be helpful but may not be essential for some shifts and rotas. We have pool cars available and some walking routes in the service.

If successful, your start date will depend on the completion of references and your soonest availability.
