Martin.eliott1@nhs.net Tel 0113 28779 Job Summary The duties and responsibilities of the role include: delivering an emergency and elective regional service for children and young people with haematological disorders In conjunction with consultant & multi-disciplinary colleagues in the Paediatric Haematology and Oncology Team, with particular responsibility for leukaemia and haematopoietic stem cell transplant. sharing on-call responsibility with the other consultants in the Paediatric Haematology and Oncology Team. This comprises an attending on call for the whole service. Depending on the training of the appointee they may also participate in the non-malignant haematology telephone advice on call rota, in which case their attending on call commitment will be reduced. providing advice and support to the other Paediatric Specialists in Leeds Children's Hospital and to those caring for Children and Young People in other hospitals who refer to Leeds. participating in the multi-professional paediatric clinical governance programmes, and clinical management meetings. participating in education, supervision and training of resident medical staff. To participating in the active departmental research programme and/or develop appropriate research interests that will benefit the service. being responsible for the day to day care of the Paediatric and Young Adult Haematology inpatients with Haematological disorders, including Leukaemia and those undergoing stem cell transplant.
