We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial management and cost control of projects within a Government contract, ensuring accurate financial reporting, value for money, and compliance with contractual and public sector standards.
The role will contribute to procurement, cost planning, and contract administration across a diverse portfolio of project works.
Job Description
We are looking for a commercially focused professional who can work collaboratively with project managers, finance teams, client representatives, suppliers, and subcontractors.
The successful candidate will be expected to attend a mixture of the two main sites in London and Milton Keynes to provide site presence and support where required.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for lifecycle and capital projects.
Monitor project expenditure and support cost reporting and variance analysis.
Support the administration of CCS contractual processes, including notices, variation orders, and payments.
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with contract terms and public sector governance requirements.
Prepare and issue ITT documents to contractors.
Collate and review subcontractor purchase orders and implement applications for payment.
Assist with tendering processes, bid evaluations, contract awards, and the drafting of subcontractor frameworks and call-off order forms.
Support commercial risk management, change control processes, and stakeholder decision-making through accurate reporting and commercial insight.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
Experience in quantity surveying within projects, facilities management, construction, or infrastructure environments.
Familiarity with CCS or NEC4 contracts and public sector procurement frameworks.
Understanding of cost management, forecasting, and commercial reporting.
Experience working with subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers.
Strong numerical, analytical, and detail-oriented approach.
Organised and proactive, with the ability to manage tasks and deadlines effectively.
Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships.
