Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a long-term role where you can make a genuine difference to children who need additional support?
Long Term Futures is working with a welcoming primary school in Lozells (B19) seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to join their experienced team. You'll support children with EHCPs and varying additional needs, helping them access learning, develop independence and make consistent progress.
In this role, you will:
- Support primary-aged children with EHCPs
- Work with pupils with needs including autism, speech and language difficulties and SEMH
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support depending on individual needs
- Help children with communication, engagement and emotional regulation
- Adapt activities and approaches to meet individual targets
You'll need:
- Previous experience working with children with SEND is essential
- Experience supporting higher or more complex needs is highly desirable
- A patient, adaptable and proactive approach
- Confidence building positive relationships with children
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
