The Opportunity:

Long Term Futures are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the B19 area from September 2026.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) across the primary age range. Working closely with the class teachers and the wider support team, you will provide 1:1 and small-group interventions, helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence, and make positive academic, social, and emotional progress.

The school has a strong reputation for inclusion and provides a nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their full potential through personalised support and high-quality teaching.

Your Key Responsibilities:

* Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with a range of SEN, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, communication needs, and SEMH

* Support pupils to access the curriculum through personalised learning strategies

* Deliver targeted interventions linked to EHCP outcomes and individual learning plans

* Promote emotional regulation, positive behaviour, and independence throughout the school day

* Work collaboratively with class teachers, the SENCO, parents, and external professionals

* Monitor pupil progress and contribute to ongoing assessments and reviews

* Help create a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive

Requirements:

* Previous experience supporting children with SEN within a primary or specialist setting

* Experience delivering 1:1 and small-group support

* Good understanding of Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, and additional learning needs

* Strong communication and behaviour management skills

* Patient, resilient, and nurturing approach to supporting children with additional needs

* Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education
