Luma Education is looking for enthusiastic and capable Teaching and Learning Support Assistants to work within a forward-thinking educational setting in Chigwell, Essex.

With opportunities ranging from classroom and SEND support through to Higher Level Teaching Assistant responsibilities for suitably experienced candidates, this could be an excellent next move if you're ready to build on what you already know.

Depending on your experience, you could work as a:

Teaching Assistant • Learning Support Assistant • SEN Support Assistant • Pupil Support Assistant • Classroom Assistant • HLTA

You'll work alongside teaching and SEND staff to help pupils access learning, overcome individual barriers and develop greater confidence and independence.

Your day could include:

- Providing targeted 1:1 and small-group support.

- Supporting pupils during classroom learning.

- Delivering structured interventions and activities.

- Adapting resources for different learning needs.

- Supporting pupils with SEND and individual learning plans.

- Encouraging communication, confidence and participation.

- Helping pupils become increasingly independent.

- Supporting positive behaviour and engagement.

- Working closely with teachers to identify where additional support is needed.

- Taking greater responsibility for learning activities where your experience and qualifications allow.

Previous experience working with children or young people within an educational setting would be particularly valuable.

We're looking for people who can build positive relationships with pupils while remaining adaptable enough to recognise that the same approach won't work for every child.

You'll ideally bring:

- Experience supporting children or young people.

- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

- A patient and encouraging approach.

- Confidence working both independently and as part of a classroom team.

- An understanding of SEND or additional learning needs.

- Creativity when adapting activities and resources.

- A willingness to continue developing professionally.

Relevant education, SEND or Teaching Assistant qualifications would be beneficial, although experience and suitability for the role are equally important.

Candidates with stronger classroom experience or appropriate qualifications may be considered for HLTA opportunities.

With £107-£140 per day available depending on your experience and responsibilities, this isn't simply an opportunity to find another classroom-support role.
