Role: Interim Transformation Lead

Ref: 000B 628F / 1

Pay Rate: £223.50 per day to £447.00 per day (depending upon experience) PAYE, with flexible holiday pay

Hours: 37 hours per week

Length of Contract: 6 months

Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire

Working Arrangements: Hybrid working, 40% office based, essential team meetings on site

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Interim Transformation Leader to provide senior leadership and delivery focus as a major transformation programme moves from design into implementation.

This is a high-profile role leading and strengthening the Transformation Office, improving governance, portfolio management, assurance, benefits realisation and delivery confidence across a complex organisation.

The Role

You will work closely with senior leadership to:

Lead and strengthen the Transformation Office and portfolio arrangements.

Provide robust governance, assurance, reporting and delivery oversight.

Develop a clear three-year transformation roadmap aligned to financial sustainability.

Strengthen portfolio, programme and benefits management.

Challenge and oversee external transformation support, ensuring clear value and outcomes.

Assess future transformation resource and capability requirements.

Co-design a sustainable, organisation-led Transformation Office operating model.

Drive knowledge transfer and build lasting internal transformation capability.

Develop a phased transition plan that reduces reliance on external support.

What We're Looking For

An exceptional transformation leader with a proven track record of delivering large-scale organisational transformation, ideally within local government or a similarly complex public sector environment.

You will bring strong experience in:

Transformation Office / PMO leadership

Portfolio and programme management

Programme governance and assurance

Benefits realisation and savings delivery

Financially driven transformation

Senior stakeholder and leadership engagement

Building sustainable internal capability
