Summary

LUNCHTIME SUPERVISOR We are seeking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and reliable Level One Lunchtime Supervisor to support children during their lunchtime break.Lunchtime is an important part of the school day, a time for children to develop independence, build friendships and enjoy playing together. The successful candidate will help create a safe, happy and inclusive environment, ensuring our children feel supported and cared for.We are looking for someone who enjoys working with young children and will actively engage with them through conversation, games and play. A warm, patient approach, clear communication skills and the ability to respond sensitively to children’s needs are essential.Ideally, the successful candidate will already hold a current first aid qualification. Applicants without this qualification must be willing to undertake the required training.This is a fixed-term position for one year.What we offer:• Salary: Grade 2, Spinal Point 4 – actual pro-rata salary of £2,956.36 per annum.• Hours: 5 hours per week, term time only (38 weeks per year).• Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 12.00–1.00pm.About the role:You will:• Supervise children during lunch and play, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.• Support children with eating, opening packaging and managing their meals, encouraging independence and good manners.• Engage children in age-appropriate activities, games and conversation.• Encourage positive behaviour, kindness and sharing, ensuring all children feel included.• Provide reassurance and comfort when children are upset or need support.• Support children’s personal and intimate care needs sensitively and respectfully, following school procedures.• Work closely with staff to support individual needs, including SEND and medical or dietary requirements.• Respond to accidents and incidents appropriately, providing first aid within your training and reporting concerns promptly.• Help keep dining and play areas safe and tidy.• Manage behaviour positively and in line with the school’s behaviour policy.We are looking for someone who:• Is caring, patient and enthusiastic about working with primary aged children.• Has experience of working with or caring for children.• Is fluent in spoken English and communicates clearly and confidently with children and adults.• Is approachable, attentive and able to build positive relationships.• Takes an active role in children’s play and lunchtime experiences.• Can follow staff guidance while using initiative and working effectively within a team.• Is punctual, reliable and calm when responding to challenges.• Understands the importance of safeguarding, confidentiality and inclusion.• Is willing to attend training and supervise children indoors and outdoors.• Ideally holds a current first aid qualification.Visits to the school are advised.
