About the Role
A growing environmental services business is looking for a Payroll Administrator to support the delivery of accurate and timely payroll across multiple UK operations.
Working alongside payroll, HR and Finance teams, you will help ensure payroll data is accurate and up to date, statutory requirements are met and employees are paid correctly each pay cycle.
This role would suit someone who enjoys working with detail, resolving queries and maintaining accurate records within a busy payroll environment.

Experience in payroll administration or processing required
Strong Excel and data-handling skills required
Knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements required
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the preparation and processing of weekly and monthly payrolls
Ensure payroll data is accurate, validated and ready for payment
Maintain and update employee payroll records and spreadsheets
Process new starters, leavers and contractual changes
Produce and issue P45 documentation
Update tax codes, student loan deductions and statutory changes received from HMRC
Support PAYE, National Insurance, pension and statutory payroll submissions
Reconcile payroll reports and provide data to Finance to support payroll funding
Support auto-enrolment and company pension scheme administration
Prepare pension reports and assist with pension payment submissions
Calculate and process statutory payments including SSP, SMP and SPP
Respond to employee payroll queries relating to pay, tax, deductions and pensions
Work closely with HR and Finance to maintain accurate payroll information
Assist with salary changes, wage increases and other payroll amendments
Help ensure payroll processes remain compliant with HMRC legislation and internal procedures
What We're Looking For
Previous experience in a payroll administration or payroll processing role
Good understanding of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work accurately to tight payroll deadlines
Good Excel and data-handling skills
Strong communication skills
Ability to resolve payroll queries professionally
Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively within a team
Desirable Experience
Experience using Sage 50 Payroll or a similar payroll system
Experience using time and attendance systems
Experience working within a multi-site or operational business
