Learning Mentor - Further Educational College
Location: Stockport, Manchester
Hours: 1 day per week (Mon)
Contract: Temporary to Permanent
Pay: £13-£15 per hour
We are looking for a caring, supportive and dedicated Learning Mentor to join a welcoming college on a temporary-to-permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people, helping them overcome barriers to learning and developing their confidence and independence.
As a Learning Mentor, you will provide targeted support to pupils who may need additional encouragement, guidance or support with their learning, behaviour, emotional wellbeing and engagement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing one-to-one and small-group mentoring support
- Supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Encouraging confidence, resilience and independence
- Supporting pupils with emotional and social development
- Promoting positive behaviour and engagement
- Helping pupils develop strategies to manage challenges
- Working closely with teachers and the wider school team
- Supporting pupils to achieve their educational and personal goals
We are looking for someone who is:
- Patient, approachable and empathetic
- Passionate about supporting young people
- A positive role model with excellent communication skills
- Confident building relationships with pupils
- Calm and consistent in their approach
- Reliable, enthusiastic and committed
- Experienced in education, mentoring, youth work or SEN is desirable but not essential
- £13-£15 per hour
- 1 day per week
