About the Role

A leading building company is looking for a technically minded

Partner Coach to support and develop its growing network of installation and technology partners.

This is a varied role where no two days are likely to be the same. One day you could be helping a partner plan a smart lighting system for a domestic installation, while the next you could be helping solve the automation requirements for a commercial or industrial project.

You will become a trusted point of contact for partners, helping them develop their technical knowledge, deliver successful projects and build more successful businesses.

The role would suit someone with practical experience in a technical trade who enjoys problem-solving, working with people and learning how technology can be applied to real-world projects.

Important to Know

  • Full-time, permanent position

  • 40 hours per week

  • Based in Reading

  • Office-based

  • Salary of £35,000 - £45,000

  • Minimum of three years' practical experience within a technical trade

  • Electrical, security, AV, networking or a similar technical background would be relevant

  • Existing networking knowledge is required

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential

  • You will need to be comfortable discussing technical issues with experienced trade professionals

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop relationships with a portfolio of partners

  • Maintain regular contact with partners through telephone, email and other communication channels

  • Become a trusted first point of contact for technical questions and concerns

  • Provide practical technical guidance and support

  • Help partners develop their knowledge and confidence with building automation technology

  • Support partners with project design, problem solving and technical queries

  • Adapt your approach according to each partner's experience and technical background

  • Maintain detailed records of conversations, projects and follow-up actions

  • Keep track of projects and ensure agreed actions are followed through

  • Work towards agreed KPIs and take ownership of achieving targets

  • Build strong relationships with trade professionals and communicate confidently in a straightforward and practical manner

What We're Looking For

  • At least three years' practical experience within a technical trade

  • Experience in electrical, security, AV, networking or another relevant technical discipline

  • Existing networking knowledge, whether gained academically or through practical experience

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Excellent computer literacy

  • A quick learner who can absorb and apply new technical information

  • A confident, personable and naturally engaging communication style

  • Someone who can communicate comfortably with experienced trade professionals

  • A self-motivated approach with the ability to work towards clear KPIs

  • A genuine interest in understanding how and why technical systems work
