needed to support students with additional needs and help them overcome barriers to learning?

We are working with an

inclusive and supportive secondary school in Coventry

who are seeking a dedicated

Graduate SEND Teaching Assistant

to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate looking to gain practical experience within education, particularly if you are considering a future career in

teaching, SEND, educational psychology or pastoral support.

The Role

As a Graduate SEND Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to students who require additional help to access their learning and thrive within the school environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing

    1:1 and small-group support

    to students with SEND

  • Supporting students to access lessons and engage with the curriculum
  • Helping students develop

    independence, confidence and resilience

  • Providing tailored support based on individual needs
  • Working closely with teachers and the school's SEND team
  • Supporting students with a range of communication, learning, social, emotional and behavioural needs
  • Helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement throughout the school day
  • Acting as a consistent, supportive and positive role model
  • What We're Looking For

    The ideal candidate will be:

  • A

    graduate

    with a minimum 2:1 degree

  • Passionate about helping young people succeed
  • Patient, empathetic and resilient

  • A confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Able to build positive and trusting relationships with students
  • Adaptable and willing to respond to different students' needs
  • Proactive, reliable and enthusiastic
  • Keen to develop a career within education or SEND
  • Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly within a SEND setting, is desirable but not essential. The school is looking for someone with the right attitude, personality and commitment to supporting students.

    Why Apply?

This is an excellent opportunity to gain

hands-on experience within a secondary school

and develop practical skills supporting students with a range of additional needs.

The role would be particularly valuable for graduates considering future careers in

teaching, SEND, educational psychology, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy or pastoral support.

If you're a graduate who wants to

help young people overcome barriers, develop their confidence and achieve their potential, we'd love to hear from you.
