Location: Newton Abbot, Devon
Pay: £150-£230 per day, depending on experience

Luma Education Recruitment is recruiting for a SEMH Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive specialist education setting near Newton Abbot, Devon, with opportunities across Primary and Secondary.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified teacher who wants to help young people build confidence, enjoy learning and achieve their potential.
The school offers a positive, nurturing environment with smaller classes, allowing teachers to build strong relationships and provide personalised support. Both experienced SEMH/SEN teachers and mainstream teachers looking to develop their specialist experience are encouraged to apply.
You will plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils, creating a calm and positive environment where they can thrive.
You will:
- Teach engaging and personalised lessons across Primary or Secondary.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
- Adapt teaching to different needs, abilities and interests.
- Encourage confidence, independence and resilience.
- Promote positive behaviour and a love of learning.
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants and the wider school team.
- Support pupils' academic, social and personal development.
- Take part in enrichment, practical and outdoor learning activities.
We are looking for a positive, patient and enthusiastic teacher who enjoys helping young people succeed.
You will need:
- QTS or equivalent.
- Experience teaching Primary or Secondary pupils.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people.
- A positive and adaptable approach.
- The ability to build strong relationships with pupils.
- A willingness to develop your SEN/SEMH experience.
Previous experience in SEMH, SEN, SEND, AP or specialist education is an advantage but not essential. Mainstream teachers looking for a new challenge are very welcome to apply.
