Summary
KPI Recruiting are on the look out for a Food Production Operative for our client based in Nantwich.
As a Food Production Operative your working hours and days are:
• Sunday- Saturday
• 4 on 4 off
• 18:00- 06:00

• £12.71 p/h
The duties and responsibilities as a Food Production Operative are:
• Utilise Precision Scales: Once trained, weigh finished cheese blocks using calibrated industrial scales, ensuring each unit meets the required weight specifications and food safety standards
• Pack Crates: Securely pack weighed cheese blocks into designated aging or shipping crates, ensuring correct alignment and careful handling to prevent product damage
• Label & Track: Accurately apply batch, weight, and date labels to packed crates before transferring products to the ripening room or cold storage
• Operate the Blockformer: Once trained, monitor and operate the automated blockformer tower machinery to ensure cheese curd is properly vacuumed, compressed, and formed into uniform, high-quality blocks
• Manage the Curd Plough: Once trained, operate the mechanical curd plough to efficiently move, turn, and direct cheddar curd beds within the finishing vats towards the mill or blockformer intake
• Perform Deep Cleaning: Carry out thorough manual dismantling, cleaning, and sanitation of the blockformer, curd plough, conveyor belts, and surrounding stainless-steel equipment
• Maintain Chemical Safety: Safely handle and use approved food-grade cleaning chemicals in accordance with established hygiene procedures and safety requirements
• Uphold Food Safety Standards: Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), hygiene procedures, and food safety regulations at all times to help prevent contamination and maintain product quality
The ideal candidate as a Food Production Operative would require:
• Food Manufacturing Experience: Previous experience in food manufacturing, dairy processing, production, or packaging is highly desirable
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, work in a humid production environment, and regularly lift loads of up to 25 kg (approximately 55 lbs)
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail when weighing products, checking labels, monitoring equipment, and following production procedures to minimise waste
• Teamwork & Communication: Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively alongside cheesemaking, production, and quality assurance teams
• Shift Availability: Willingness and ability to work the B Shift (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM) on a 4-on/4-off rotation, including weekends and public holidays where required
