SEN Teaching Assistant - South Yorkshire - Futher Education College

Location: South Yorkshire

Salary: £13.00-£15.00 per hour, negotiable depending on experience

Hours: Full-time, Part-time

Contract: Temporary to Permanent

We are currently looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive educational setting in South Yorkshire, with the opportunity to move from a temporary position into a permanent role.

The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff and pupils to provide one-to-one and small-group support to young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to engage with learning and develop their confidence, independence and social skills.

The Role

- Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, both in and outside the classroom

- Providing one-to-one and small-group support where required

- Helping pupils access the curriculum and participate fully in school life

- Supporting emotional, behavioural and social development

- Working closely with teachers and other professionals to deliver effective support

- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils

- Promoting a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

- Patient, caring and empathetic

- Confident working with young people

- Reliable, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a team

- Passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs

- Adaptable and able to respond to individual pupil needs

- Previous experience working within an SEN, education, care or support setting is desirable but not essential
