Pay Rate: £13.00 - £15.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established further education college in South Yorkshire for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.
This is a full-time, long-term opportunity ideal for an individual who is passionate about supporting young people and adults with Special Educational Needs to access education, develop their independence, and achieve their full potential.
The Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and the wider support team to provide personalised learning and pastoral support to students with a range of additional needs.
You will support learners both within the classroom and in other college environments, helping them to engage with their learning, develop essential skills, and overcome barriers to education.

Your responsibilities will include:

Providing 1:1 and small group support to students

Supporting learners to access lessons, activities, and college resources

Working alongside teaching staff to adapt learning materials and activities to meet individual needs

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Previous experience supporting children, young people, or adults with SEN/SEND in an education, care, or support setting

Experience working with learners with autism, SEMH, learning difficulties, or complex additional needs is desirable
