Summary

Our client, a leading educational organisation in the local area, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Part-time 1:1 SEND Tutor to join their team. This exciting opportunity will allow you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

As a Part-time 1:1 SEND Tutor, you will be responsible for providing personalised, one-on-one support to students, tailoring your approach to meet their unique learning needs and helping them to reach their full potential. Your role will involve working closely with our client's SEND team to develop and implement effective teaching strategies, monitoring student progress, and collaborating with parents/guardians to ensure a comprehensive and supportive learning experience.

We are seeking candidates with a strong background in special education, a passion for working with SEND students, and a proven track record of delivering positive outcomes. You should have excellent communication skills, the ability to build rapport and trust with students, and a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by SEND learners.

In this role, you will receive a competitive salary, with the following pay structure:

- KS1 - KS4 Material: £31 or £36 per hour (online vs. in-person)

- KS5 Material or above: £40 or £45 per hour (online vs. in-person)

Additionally, our client will provide support for travel to in-person tuition, and you can invoice for £0.45 per mile.

- Provide individualised, one-on-one support to SEND students, tailoring your teaching methods to their unique learning needs

- Collaborate with the SEND team to develop and implement effective teaching strategies and interventions

- Monitor student progress and adjust your approach as needed to ensure optimal learning outcomes

- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns or questions

- Maintain detailed records of student progress and contribute to the overall assessment and reporting process

- Participate in professional development activities to stay up-to-date with the latest SEND teaching methodologies and best practices

- Contribute to the creation of engaging and age-appropriate learning materials

- Relevant degree or teaching qualification, with a focus on special education or a related field

- Minimum 2 years of experience working as a 1:1 SEND Tutor or in a similar role

- Thorough understanding of the diverse needs and challenges faced by SEND students

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with students and their families

- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines

- Proficient in the use of educational technology and digital learning tools

- Commitment to ongoing professional development and a desire to stay up-to-date with the latest SEND teaching practices

- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to respond to the changing needs of SEND students
