Summary

Location: Harrow, North West London

Pay: £100-£110 per day PAYE

Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term

A child joining a group activity for the first time.

Managing a transition without becoming overwhelmed.

Communicating what they need.

Completing a task independently instead of immediately looking for help.

Within SEND, progress doesn't always look the same - and an experienced Teaching Assistant understands how important those moments can be.

A welcoming primary school in Harrow is looking for a Senior SEND Teaching Assistant to provide experienced, consistent support to pupils with a range of additional needs.

You'll work closely with the SENCO and teaching team to help pupils access learning while developing the communication, emotional regulation and independence they need beyond the classroom too.

Pupils may have Autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, sensory differences, communication difficulties or learning needs.

Your support will be shaped around the individual.

You'll:

- Provide high-quality 1:1 and small-group support.

- Deliver structured SEND interventions.

- Support pupils working towards EHCP targets.

- Adapt activities around individual strengths and needs.

- Help pupils develop communication and social skills.

- Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.

- Build consistent and trusting relationships.

- Encourage pupils to attempt tasks independently.

- Monitor and record progress.

- Share observations with teachers and the SENCO.

- Work collaboratively with families and external professionals where required.

- Support colleagues in implementing agreed SEND strategies.

We're looking for someone with established SEND experience who understands both the challenges and rewards of this work.

You'll ideally:

- Have substantial experience supporting children with SEND.

- Understand a range of additional needs.

- Have experience delivering interventions or individual support programmes.

- Be able to recognise and respond to emotional dysregulation.

- Communicate clearly with children and adults.

- Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

- Be patient, observant and consistent.

- Believe strongly in developing pupil independence.

- Be ready for greater responsibility within your role.

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one, is required.

You'll join a school environment where SEND support is valued and where your experience can contribute directly to pupils' progress.

You'll receive:

- £100-£110 per day PAYE.

- Weekly pay with no umbrella deductions.

- A full-time, long-term opportunity.

- Support from an experienced SEND team.

- Access to professional development.

- Opportunities to strengthen your specialist SEND experience.

- Dedicated consultant support throughout your placement.

SEND support isn't about doing everything for a pupil.

It's about helping them develop the confidence and skills to gradually do more for themselves.

If you're an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant looking for a long-term role in Harrow, apply today with your CV.
