Summary
Duties and Responsibilities Leadership Lead the Adult Audiology Centre and Adult Rehabilitation and Therapy (ART) Service, managing staff and service provision.Develop and adapt services to changing demographics, clinical requirements and organisational priorities. Lead service change, implement new ways of working and chair multidisciplinary meetings, ensuring effective communication. Motivate staff to deliver high standards of patient care and act as a source of support for complex and non-routine cases. Contribute to Audiology Service leadership, strategy, decision-making and departmental planning with the Head of Audiology.Model exemplary communication, professionalism and behaviours in line with Trust values. Financial and Resource Management Assess new devices and make recommendations regarding clinical use. Manage ART service stock and review consumable use to ensure value for money and cost-effectiveness. Support financial planning, workforce planning and skill-mix reviews with the Head of Audiology. Evaluate equipment, devices and technologies from clinical and financial perspectives. Participate in contracting and finance meetings and escalate service delivery, staffing and capacity issues. Professional Advisory Provide specialist advice and recommendations to Audiology colleagues, ENT consultants, Audiovestibular Physicians, Neurologists and other professionals. Maintain expert knowledge through literature review and ensure practice reflects current evidence. Develop, review and implement audiological guidelines, protocols and joint working arrangements with partner services. Work collaboratively with ENT, physiotherapy and neurology teams to develop clinical guidelines.Represent the service at local, regional and national meetings.
