Summary

·        Perform specialist and routine diagnostic audio-vestibular procedures, paediatric audiology assessments and provide a comprehensive hearing aid service to adults, involving carers and families as appropriate

 ·        Responsible for the day to day running of a specific section or project within the Audiology service, within own area of expertise and as agreed with the manager

 ·        Lead areas of clinical audit and clinical governance for the Audiology service

 ·        Supervise the work of other members of the team as appropriate, including junior audiologists and trainees/students

The Audiology Department has three main areas – General Audiology, the Paediatric Cochlear Implant Programme, and the Adult Auditory Implant Programme. The General Audiology team consists of audiologists and administrators and appointments are held mainly at the Guys site where adult rehabilitation and diagnostic assessment is performed. The Implant programme is conducted at the St Thomas’s site and the team consists of audiologists, administrators, speech and language therapists, teachers of the deaf, psychologists and ENT surgeons
