Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) (Children) CAP to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for overseeing and reviewing the care plans for children in the care system, ensuring their needs are met and their rights protected. The IRO acts as an independent advocate for children, regularly reviewing their cases to promote stability and improve their overall well-being. This position requires strong communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively with social workers, families, and other professionals, and a commitment to safeguarding the best interests of each child. The successful candidate will have a background in child care or social work, an understanding of child protection frameworks, and experience in case management. You will play a crucial role in monitoring care placements, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, and contributing to positive outcomes for vulnerable children. Responsibilities
Conduct timely and effective reviews of children’s care plans in accordance with legal frameworks and guidelines.
Ensure that the child’s wishes, feelings, and best interests are central to all review processes.
Monitor the implementation of care plans and provide recommendations to improve outcomes.
Liaise with social workers, foster carers, parents, legal representatives, and other stakeholders to ensure coordinated care.
Identify and address any safeguarding concerns or issues that arise during the care review process.
Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation for each review meeting and maintain accurate case records.
Advocate independently on behalf of the child to promote their welfare and stability within the care system.
Contribute to the development and improvement of policies and practices relating to children’s care and safeguarding.
Hours Per Week: 36
Start Time: 08:00
End Time: 16:00
Pay Per Hour: £28.41
