£14.00 - £15.50 per hour | Long-term / Temp-to-Perm | Term-time only

Are you passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning? We are looking for a compassionate and motivated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school near Godalming, Surrey.

This is a rewarding opportunity to become part of a supportive team working with students who require additional emotional, mental health and educational support.

Key Information

- Location: Near Godalming, Surrey

- Working hours:

Monday: 8:30am - 4:00pm

Tuesday - Thursday: 8:30am - 4:15pm

Friday: 8:30am - 3:45pm

- Pay: £14.00 - £15.50 per hour

- Contract: Long-term / Temp-to-Perm

- Transport: Own transport is essential due to the school's rural setting

Your Day-to-Day Role

Working alongside experienced teachers and the wider school team, you will provide consistent and individualised support to students throughout their school day.

You will be responsible for:

- Supporting young people with complex mental health and additional needs.

- Providing a calm, consistent presence and helping students feel safe and supported.

- Encouraging pupils to develop strategies for managing their emotions.

- Helping students engage positively with lessons and their wider school experience.

- Supporting learners across different key stages.

- Building students' confidence, independence and ability to make meaningful progress.

- Contributing to a positive, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.

- Working closely with colleagues to ensure individual needs are understood and appropriately supported.

You don't necessarily need extensive SEN experience. We are particularly interested in people who demonstrate:

- Strong communication skills: You can work effectively with pupils, teachers and other professionals.

- Flexibility: You are comfortable adapting your approach according to individual circumstances.

- A proactive attitude: You are willing to get involved and support students wherever needed.

- Previous experience within an SEN setting would be beneficial, but is not essential.
