Working alongside experienced teachers, pastoral staff and school leaders, you'll gain valuable hands-on experience in a secondary school environment while developing the skills, confidence and classroom experience needed to progress into a long-term career in education.

What You'll Be Doing

As a

Graduate Secondary Teaching Assistant, you'll support teachers and pupils across the school, helping students to engage with their learning and achieve their full potential.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Supporting teachers with the delivery of engaging and inclusive lessons

• Providing

1:1 and small-group support to pupils

• Helping students develop their knowledge, confidence and independent learning skills

• Delivering targeted academic interventions where appropriate

• Supporting pupils who require additional guidance with their learning

• Working with students with

SEND and helping to remove barriers to learning

• Supporting positive behaviour and encouraging students to develop confidence, resilience and independence

• Assisting with lesson preparation, classroom organisation and learning resources

• Providing additional support to students during lessons and other aspects of the school day

• Building positive and professional relationships with students and staff

• Helping create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment

• Supporting the wider school team with pastoral and student support when required

What We're Looking For

We're looking for graduates who are enthusiastic about working with young people and are serious about developing a career within

secondary education.

You'll ideally have:

• A

First Class or 2:1 degree —  

A degree in any subject 

• A genuine passion for working with young people

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• A patient, positive and proactive approach

• The confidence to build positive relationships with secondary-aged students

• A willingness to learn from experienced teachers and school leaders

• The motivation to develop your classroom and communication skills

• A genuine ambition to pursue a

long-term career in education

• The right to work in the UK on a full-time basis

Previous experience working with children or young people, tutoring or working within a school is beneficial but not essential.
