Why this role?
If you've worked in youth clubs, outreach, or community mentoring, you already know something no classroom can teach - relationships come before everything else. London's AP settings need Youth Workers who bring that empowerment-focused approach to young people aged roughly 11 to 25 who aren't engaging with formal schooling.
A typical week could include
- Relationship-based mentoring and outreach support
- Re-engagement work with young people who've disengaged from education or training
- Emotional wellbeing support and positive behaviour guidance
- Collaborating with schools, social care, youth justice, and early help services
What you'll need
- Relevant youth work or SEMH experience
- Enhanced DBS with children's barred list
- Level 2 Safeguarding certificate
- Two phone-verified professional references
- Right to work in the UK
Even better if you have
- Community-based or outreach youth work
- AP settings experience
- Violence reduction or youth justice background
- JNC qualification or equivalent
