Your experience matters
You don’t need to have worked as a Teaching Assistant before.
Experience in
schools, nurseries, childcare, youth work, sports, coaching, residential care, mentoring or volunteering can all provide valuable skills for working in the classroom.

Make a difference in the classroom
As a Teaching Assistant, you could support pupils with their learning, wellbeing and behaviour while helping create a positive and inclusive classroom.
Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:
• Supporting teachers with classroom activities
• Helping individual pupils or small groups with their learning
• Encouraging pupils to participate and stay engaged
• Supporting positive behaviour
• Helping children develop confidence and independence
• Providing practical and pastoral support where needed
