Summary
SEMH Tutor & Teacher
Greater Manchester - Bolton, Bury, Manchester City, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford & Wigan
£28 to £30 per hour | £210 to £225 per day
Flexible - Supply, long-term, temp to perm, part-time or full-time.
Why this role?
Some pupils don't need another lesson. They need a teacher who still believes they can get there. Specialist SEMH schools, AP academies and PRUs across Greater Manchester are looking for exactly that. Tutors who can rebuild confidence and improve engagement with small groups or individual learners, in teams where relationships come before behaviour.
A typical week could include
- Delivering engaging, differentiated learning for pupils with SEMH, ADHD, autism, EBD, anxiety and trauma-related presentations
- Building trusted relationships with pupils who have disengaged from mainstream education
- Working within specialist teams using restorative and therapeutic approaches
- Supporting pupils from KS2 through to post-16
What you'll need
- QTS, QTLS, or substantial equivalent experience
- Minimum one year in SEMH or Alternative Provision
- Enhanced DBS with children's barred list
- DBS Update Service registration
- Level 2 Safeguarding certificate
- Two professional references
- Right to work in the UK

- SEMH and AP experience
- Special schools and small class sizes
- Team Teach, Thrive, or PACE training
- Trauma-informed and therapeutic behaviour support
- KS2 to KS4 specialist experience
