Summary
Van Driver - Inverness, UK (temporary 6 - 8 weeks)
Our client, a Highland based business, is looking for a temporary Van Driver for 6 - 8 weeks, to start immediately, to assist them during their busy summer season.
Job Responsibilities
- Safely operate a van to deliver goods to clients across Inverness and surrounding areas.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery, maintaining high standards of customer service.
- Conduct pre and post trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with road regulations.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs, including delivery notes and mileage records.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and company policies during daily operations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of items.
- Report any vehicle defects or incidents promptly to management for appropriate action.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Valid UK Category B (Car) driving licence; a clean driving record is preferred.
- Previous experience as a van driver or in a similar logistics role is preferred.
- Good knowledge of Inverness and surrounding areas for efficient route planning.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety checks.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings or weekends if required.
- Proficiency in using handheld devices or GPS systems for navigation and delivery tracking.
- Physically fit, there is a degree of heavy lifting in this role.
