Job Responsibilities
- Ensure facilities and machinery operate efficiently and safely by carrying out repairs, maintenance, inspections, and cleaning as required.
- Respond to faults quickly and efficiently, diagnosing issues and rectifying problems to minimise downtime.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance across production equipment and site infrastructure.
- Carry out inspections to identify defects, wear, and potential safety or performance issues.
- Use hand tools and power tools to complete maintenance tasks to a high standard.
- Undertake basic electrical, plumbing, and mechanical work within scope of competence.
- Work across multiple sites when required, supporting maintenance needs beyond the main production premises.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, including proper housekeeping during and after maintenance activities.
- Work effectively with contractors and internal staff, communicating clearly to coordinate tasks and updates.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical knowledge: Proficiency using hand tools and power tools.
Mechanical aptitude: Ability to understand machinery and apply practical troubleshooting skills.
Basic multi-trade knowledge: Competence in basic electrical, plumbing, and mechanical tasks.
Problem-solving: Ability to analyse issues, identify defects, and determine effective solutions.
Physical capability: Ability to lift equipment, climb ladders, and work on your feet for extended periods.
Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to work with contractors and staff.
Driving licence: Full driving licence (required for site call-outs and travel between locations).
Working hours flexibility: Daytime hours with occasional evening call-outs in the event of machinery breakdowns.
