Summary

Occupational Health Advisor – Belfast

Location: Belfast, Northern Ireland

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £43,000 – £48,000 per annum

Job Type: Full-time

Work Pattern: On-site, with travel between sites as required

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Occupational Health Advisor (OHA) to join a team in Belfast. You will provide a comprehensive occupational health service, including case management, health surveillance, workplace health assessments and employee wellbeing support.

Working closely with employees, HR, Health & Safety and managers, you will provide expert advice on fitness for work, rehabilitation, reasonable adjustments and return-to-work plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a varied occupational health case management caseload.

• Conduct face-to-face and telephone occupational health assessments.

• Provide advice on fitness for work, rehabilitation, long-term conditions and sickness absence.

• Produce clear, concise occupational health reports with clinical recommendations.

• Deliver and coordinate health surveillance, including audiometry, spirometry, vision screening, HAVS and COSHH-related assessments.

• Provide occupational health advice on workplace risks, DSE and ergonomic assessments.

• Support health promotion and employee wellbeing initiatives.

• Provide guidance and escalation support to OH Nurses and Technicians where required.

• Maintain accurate, confidential clinical records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.

• Analyse health and absence data and contribute to service improvement.

• Work collaboratively with HR, Health & Safety and management teams.

Essential Requirements

• Registered Nurse with a recognised Occupational Health Nursing Diploma/Degree.

• Current and valid NMC registration.

• Previous experience working in an Occupational Health role.

• Experience in case management and health surveillance.

• Knowledge of relevant legislation, including Health & Safety, Equality and Data Protection legislation, COSHH, Noise and HAVS.

• Experience undertaking face-to-face and telephone assessments.

• Strong report writing, communication and clinical decision-making skills.

• Good IT skills and experience using occupational health software.

• Ability to work independently and manage a busy caseload.
